Layout: Last and Temporary
Another premade layout, with many thanks to Benedikt Rieke-Benninghaus. I quite liked how simple and user-friendly it looked, and was delighted to find that its coding was quite simple and straight-forward too.
I wanted a change to a simple layout that I can edit the navigation and content of this blog to my heart’s content without having to trip over complicated CSS here and there. This one did the job.
I made a number of modifications to this layout for it to look the way it does. The main one was to convert all the German text in the layout to English (thanks, Google Translator!). I tried to make the two columns of equal height, but I can’t do the faux columns fix as all the columns are fluid. I realise there’s ways to get around that too, but I really don’t feel like bothering with CSS at the moment. The layout doesn’t work quite so well in IE but I hope to rectify that soon. The other main bit of fiddling that isn’t readily noticeable is the new navigation system for showing subpages in each section.
Oh and of course, this place wouldn’t be the way it is without Wordpress. It might be a bloated and difficult to use script, but in the end when things ARE working, I love it. :)
