Been tagged by Amanda! The rules don’t state what kind of poem it has to be so here’s a limerick I whipped up.

I had a dream a few days ago,
I was partying with peeps I don’t know,
I eventually discerned,
Into zombies they’d turned,
Not the fast type but more so the slow.

True story! I tag Dee and Kudarania.

In other news Uni has started there’s the essay due tomorrow that I still have another 1400 words to write for before starting the next essay due the week after. Oh joy. It’s my mum’s birthday tomorrow!

Ugh essays

I want to be a stay-at-home mum. Except… without kids (though maybe a puppy). So… okay, I guess a more accurate description is stay-at-home person. ¬_¬;

It’ll be terribly ironic if I decided to quit Uni and go on welfare RIGHT NOW because I don’t want to do an essay on social welfare due on Tuesday. What better way to argue for structural violence committed by our market-driven legal system than to actually immerse myself into it! TAKE THAT, NEOLIBERALISTS! It’ll be great, I can spend my days squirreled up in a house, watching anime and plotting out crochet patterns to make awesome plushies (like these) and miniature polymer clay sculptures (like these).

Sigh. Don’t worry that won’t happen. I’m just so jaded by this semester’s subjects (Remedies, Trade Practices Act and Taxation) that they simply pose no interest to me. I just DON’T CARE. The topic on welfare is fun to think about and discuss I guess but I don’t want to write an essay on it. Ugh it’s going to be torture waiting till next year, which is going to be so kick ass in that I’ll be able to take Intellectual Property, International Law, Legal Ethics and Litigation. Woot! But until then… WHINE WHINE WHINE!

I learnt recently that “Woot” actually is a shortening of the phrase “Wow loot!” that people who play Dungeons and Dragons say. That’s pretty awesome.

Puppy love?

I found my 13 year old brother’s bebo page (it seems to be a social networking site similar to myspace) and I discovered that he’s “in love” with a girl named Jessica (presumably his age). Ha, I can’t wait till I confront him about it tomorrow. Not out of disapproval or anything (though I am a bit concerned… I wasn’t dating when *I* was 13!) but just amusement. I think she’s his first girlfriend. I wonder how long it’ll last. :P

I watched 300 the other day, what a fun movie! These two reviews summed it up the best.

Two weeks holiday, yay! But three essays to write as one is due in the holidays (next Tuesday in fact) and two right after it. Booo… It’s pretty cruel to have assignments due DURING holidays. That’s very nice of you, law department.

Did you know some people define racism as only to mean white people being racist to everyone else? E.g. Because I’m Chinese, even if I make an incredibly defamatory remark about someone’s race, that’s not me being racist (because I’m not white) but that’s me being prejudice. Based on colour. This goes for sexism too (i.e. only white men can be sexist, women can’t be sexist to each other or to men, that’s just prejudice… based on sex -_-). Thanks for ruining two perfectly descriptive terms, people! Tim summed it up best in his posts referring to these weird definitions of sexism and racism. Warning: long posts. :P

Thanks to the incredibly helpful comments to my post below, my next step is to simply save money. Then it would be off to the shops so I can start investing in some decent clothing!

“What are you sniggering at?”

Musings, Online, Uni 8 Comments »

For those who have attended or is attending university/college, does anyone find it a little annoying when if someone’s phone goes off in class (or even a lecture), there’s bound to be at LEAST one person there who’d snicker at it? This is even it’s not because of a funny ring tone or anything. It’s already automatically embarrassing for the person with the ringing phone, especially if they have to frantically dig it out of their bag to stop the ringing, and with the lecturer/tutor staring at them disapprovingly, but is that actually funny? It might be different in a high school environment (at least mine) where ringing phones are rarer and treated with harsher penalties, where an unexpected ringing phone might trigger a laugh or two, but in Uni?

10 points for whoever can pinpoint who I’m quoting in the post title, without using google.

All the good WPRs are gone (only a couple left) and there are no good ones. I have no idea how active yoursite is since the reviews don’t have dates on them. What do you guys think if I set up some kind of informal reviewing/feedback section as an addon to this site? Or are WPRs just not good ideas anymore?

Phoenix Wright 2 finally arrived!

Gaming, Uni 3 Comments »

No picture, too tired to take one. But Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All finally reached my mailbox! It was ordered on the 14th, shipped on the 16th of February and arrived today. So do I recommend Play-Asia (full disclosure: that is an affiliation link, however my opinions remain truthful)? Yes. They have a wide range of titles and from what I can see, all of them are cheaper than titles (at least Nintendo DS titles) sold in Australia. Their packaging of games is very good (I picked the tiny bit more expensive box packaging) and they are definitely not bootlegs. The timing of delivery takes a little while to Australia, but so far, no more than 15 days. I’ll definitely purchase more games from there in the future.

But anyway, I’m pretty tired from Uni these days. All the readings have been bugging the hell out of me, there’s so much of it. Interaction with hobbies has been more or less halted, I haven’t progressed with knitting my scarf for days now. -_- Wouldn’t it be cool if people didn’t have to sleep?
