Listening to: “Korobushka” - Bond

*points down* I mentioned that I was going to go on about X but I decided not to. Instead, I’ve roughly reviewed it. Ack forgot most of what I was going to say. Sigh, now I terribly wish I could read more of the manga so that I could form theories of my own… *sighs* This kickass X shrine helped alot, with the past issues of the manga summarised… but still it’s not the real thing. But of an eyebrow raiser with the whole Subaru thing being completely different from the anime. O_O So anyway, second best thing was to look at fanfiction.

Now, I’ve already ranted about fanfiction before and so I won’t talk about that again. Fiona has also made a few good points too. I still generally avoid ff.net as it contains too much crap. So I do it the hard way, and actually surf for fanfiction sites.

Firstly, a big thank you to Tas for showing me Behold, the Void. This place cotains some of the most brillant writings I’ve read, and and deliciously ample supply of X/TB fanfiction. The way Leareth writes is really captivating (if not a bit slashy in a few stories ^^;), so I recommend that to fanfic readers.

However, not all fanfic sites have that quality of work. Here are a few I want to point out in my journey across various fanfiction archives:

1. First and foremost, PLEASE do not cross Lestat from Vampire Chronicles with various members of X. PLEASE!!!! Crossovers usually don’t work (maybe unless they are intentionally funny), and the few that I’ve read that cross these two lovely but TOTALLY UNCROSSABLE genres are, well, crap. I repeat, DON’T SHOVE LESTAT IN X!!!!

2. Love triangle between Subaru, Kamui and Seishirou COULD work if it’s SubaruxK (this was already implied in the manga anyway), SxS (duh). HOWEVER, Su and Sei getting jealous over each other FOR KAMUI, I can’t possibly see how that works. Like, Seishirou and Kamui? I DON’T THINK SO!!!

3. I came across a fanfic with the description along the lines of, “It is the end of the world and Arashi has her periods. What would she do?” This is acutally a serious fanfic as well. *bangs head on wall* Don’t understand why people write things like this.

The other thing is, bond music!!! I borrowed the DVD from a friend, and it was great! The highlight was definitely when they placed the acoustic version of Korobushka. I was in awe when I watched it, totally breathless. The way they so meticulously controlled every note, I was totally swept away. You can hear the rawness of the violins, viola and cello, how the notes just spring out, in a flow that seem to carry your soul away. I’ve watched it 3 times, and it hasn’t lessened its hold on me. Although not a serious piece (rather fun sounding), it’s played with an intensity that shows the talent of this quartet. I’ve rarely, if ever, felt this sort of concentration of emotions from music, I highly recommend it. It’s astounding what music can do to me, spent quite some time wandering around in a sort of daze, until the effect faded a little.

Woah, had a very strange dream last night. Unlike other blurry ones, this one followed a pattern and sequence (well kinda). Here it is (remember, it’s a DREAM, I know it doesn’t make sense):

Well in the dream, I somehow created a huge vehicle ship thing, to get to Mars. I can’t remember if it was Mars, or the details of the ship. But I think it was a bubble shaped, clear and big enough for people to live in.

Naturally, no one believed me so my sister (for some reason, in the dream I had a sister) and I went in a whisked off to Mars ourselves. In Mars the whole setting was light, blurry and bright, pastellish colours. Think, anime childhood flashbacks, that kinda atmosphere. Anyway, I was able to (somehow) create life and I made three Lilo-and-Stitch styled ducklings (O_o???). They were so cute!! ^__^ After a while, we saw that Earth had some kind of catastrophy and all the humans died out. So then, my “sister” decided to go back (in what, I have no idea).

After being content with my ducklings for several thousand years (yay, I’m immortal), I decided to go to Earth to have a look. What I saw was Hong Kong nightlife styled megacity, with all the glitz, glamour and decadence that went with it. I turned ducklings to three different coloured coins that went in my pockets. My “sister” resided and controlled a HUGE supermarket-like thing, from a secluded floor. She told me that she tried my duckling thing, when she got to Earth but her ducks somehow learnt to be envious and competitive. And for some reasons they evolved into humans (????). Outside, it seemed perpetually night, with so many neon lights and moving traffic. Macdonalds and whores were seen at every corner, it was quiet and depressing sight.

And that’s basically it. I’m positive that I missed a chunk out but I can’t remember it. But it’s a blessing that I could remember that much. NOW WTF IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? I’m overstressed? I’m a closet hippie that craves for peace and happiness? I love ducklings (well I do love the ones in Lilo and Stitch)? Or maybe I just really really crave to go back to Hong Kong. Bah the whole thing sounds like a really shit sci-fi story. How the hell do I come up with crap like this? Even when unconscious. -_-;

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! *squeals* According to This site, Bond has released a new album called Shine!!! ^___^ quote, “Bond are currently camped high in the Classical Crossover charts in the US, holding the #1 spot with Shine, and the #5 spot with Born!” WOOH!!!!!! Can’t wait till it gets to Australia, it was already released in the US on October 15th. But according to this site, the album won’t be released in Australia till Febuary 2003. WHAT CRAP IS THAT?????? ARGH!

First of all, thanks for the warm responses that people have given me for my layouts. *is very humbled and honoured for the attention* And a BIG *THANK YOU* to Fiona for volunteering to go through my site and pick out the numerous errors that I have carelessly made. ^_^ Oh and if anyone was nice enough to link to the old blog, please change the URL to this one.

My speakers aren’t working and I have no idea what is wrong with it. >_< Craving for variety of adfree music (ie not from radio), I rummaged through the very old cassette tapes I used to tape of songs from the radio. Ah yes, the years when burners weren’t known to the general mass and CDs still costed a fortune. Brought back memories of some good and forgotten songs! Will now download “Anthem for the Year 2000″ by Silverchair and “Frozen” by Madonna, totally forgot about those. Damn speakers. >_<

Oh and if you thought that vanilla coke sounded disgusting, how about this: “Garlic and Pepper Yoghurt”. Saw it in the supermarket. Sounds….. delicious. O_o
