SimCity 4… anyone (still) play? I don’t have much time for gaming these days, but SimCity 4 is fun (but pretty challenging). Any good game recommendations?
The other day I was at the Local Court at a hearing and while I was sitting there, bored out of my skull, I noticed that one of the court clerks that worked there had unusual hair. It was the smallest mohawk I’ve ever seen. His whole head had a tiny layer of fuzzy hair on it, with a strip of hair going from the front of his head to the back was slightly taller, but only about 1cm or so (about half an inch). Just enough for it to be noticeable and telling that it was done on purpose. I’m sorry if there’s another name for these types of haircuts, I know very little about hair. It really brightened my day, just the idea that this guy has purposely, albeit subtly, bore a traditional “stick-it-to-the-man” symbol with hair. I doubt he’d get away with having a full mohawk hairstyle while working in a courtroom, but it’s nonetheless I felt it breathed a little bit of life in an otherwise imposing and serious environment.
Also: Go join! Apparently a replacement for nu/mb, it looks very promising (and pretty).

No picture, too tired to take one. But Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All finally reached my mailbox! It was ordered on the 14th, shipped on the 16th of February and arrived today. So do I recommend Play-Asia (full disclosure: that is an affiliation link, however my opinions remain truthful)? Yes. They have a wide range of titles and from what I can see, all of them are cheaper than titles (at least Nintendo DS titles) sold in Australia. Their packaging of games is very good (I picked the tiny bit more expensive box packaging) and they are definitely not bootlegs. The timing of delivery takes a little while to Australia, but so far, no more than 15 days. I’ll definitely purchase more games from there in the future.
But anyway, I’m pretty tired from Uni these days. All the readings have been bugging the hell out of me, there’s so much of it. Interaction with hobbies has been more or less halted, I haven’t progressed with knitting my scarf for days now. -_- Wouldn’t it be cool if people didn’t have to sleep?

WOOT! It came in the mail (though it was the later one that’s shipped… the earlier one still has yet to arrive)! That’s Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and yes the cover and inside booklet is the Japanese release of the game. I weren’t able to find the US or European release of the game anywhere online that would ship it to Australia for under AU$70 (which would be how much the game costs when it’s released here in March). However, there’s an English option when you start playing the Japanese release and the English is impressively professionally done, without any messy Engrish. Tim paid for a black DS Lite (no picture yet, the DS Lite and Phoenix Wright are at his house at the moment) when we rushed to a gaming store before class. It came with Nintendogs so that’s alright. The package came to less than AU$200 so that’s an okay price I think.
And Phoenix Wright has been so fun! I didn’t expect how challenging the investigation and trials were, while still being entertaining and funny. I’m still in the middle of my second case, and I can’t wait to continue it. Yay, DS Lite! :D I feel so hip!

I ended up ordering Phoneix Wright: Ace Attorney as well. Yes, I’m aware that that is the Japanese release but I was assured that the English option in the release is identical to the US release. I was amazed that the order was apparently shipped just hours after I placed the order, and I’m really hope it’ll get to me soon. If all goes to plan, I would have saved around AU$70 on the games (compared to buying them from Australia)! *fingers crossed*

Okay, I ordered Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All yesterday night from Play Asia. I’ve never ordered a game from the internet before and I’ve read reviews about Play Asia and majoratively, the reviews were very good. The game (plus shipping) came to about AU$37 (US$28) so that’s heaps cheaper than buying DS games in Australia. I’m just hoping that everything goes smoothly. >_<
I only just realised that it’s the sequel to the first Phoenix Wright game, so for those who’ve played both, can you tell me if it’s okay (in terms of spoilers) to play the sequel before the first game? The first game won’t be out in Australia till March (yes, we’re so incredibly slow here) and it’ll be quite pricey too (about AU$70) so I may be just play the sequel first. Stupid Amazon has it for a more affordable price but gah, it won’t ship the game to Australia. WTF.
And no… I don’t have a DS yet. But I thought, no point in investing in a DS until I have a game to play on it. :P
I’M SO NERVOUS I HOPE THE GAME ARRIVES OKAY!!! *pulls at hair*
