When I saw a promo for the first issue of CRAFT containing the pattern for the “cro-bot” I was determined to make my own due to its sheer awesomeness. I finally got my hands on the patten recently and away I went. I started a few weeks ago and would’ve liked to have gotten it finished earlier but I had work and fun hanging outs to attend to. Just as well, have done the bulk of it in the span of a day resulted in quite bad shoulder and wrist pains.
Anywho, Mox the 15cm (6 inches) tall robot is now complete, with his own set of black headphones (my mother insists they look more liked hair buns), a tiny felt heart and a scarf though arguably, robots don’t need to listen to music, have hearts nor get cold. Once again, my complete lack of photography skills coupled with my shitty camera meant that the colours came out badly and blurry. Bah. For example, the stripe around the head is supposed to be silver rather than grey but it turned out annoyingly darker than expected. Overall, I’m actually very happy with it and now Mox stands in his own corner on my messy desk.
Also, halfway through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!

You definitely won’t be needing to spend much money on toys, once you get kids.
Super-duper awesome, cute… as per usual =D
Eeew children! xP My sewing skills are really noobish, any kid would tear my dolls apart in 2 minutes!
Aaaahh, what a cute little robot! I love the big eyes :D
Ah! Your robot is so cute! I’m not very good at crafts and would give up in a few days. I really like those eyebrows, though.
Oh wow that is so cute! And really big too! So… Why don’t you sell this skill?
I’m reaaaally slow with crochet, I’ve seen videos of people just flying through the rows with their hooks while I could only plod along. Added to the way I pull all my stitches really tight (which makes it quite tiring after a while), it’s not really a viable source of income. :P I have made a number of crocheted dolls as gifts though!
I should buy one off you… :P
Crochet! My mom taught me to do one last time, but I gave up due to my lack of skill :P I can’t do needlework too.
It honestly looks like hair buns :P At first I thought it looked like Pucca :P
Ahhh, he is so cute! I want one! I wish I could do that! I feel so talentless… :P
Ooh! That’s so sweet! I would pay for one of those.
Here’s the plan: I’ll fly to down under, kidnap you, and you can make me things. Then I’ll let you out. How about it? :D
Deal! I’d love a free trip to England. xP
Wow - that is really awesomely cute. Congrats on making a toy for yourself! ;)
That is one adorable cro-bot! It looks great :3
Good luck with HP! You’ll need it… well, I know I did :P
I’m in absolute awe of the patience this must require.
Too much cuteness…head going to explode XD
I don’t know much about stitching but I say you have talent. Or at the very least, you make adorable creatures :3
Sup Belch!
The robo-doll looks pretty awesome, nice work! You make a lot of these crochet-ornament things don’t you -what do you do with all of them?
You should go and buy a camera- pretty cheap for a fairly good MP these days. And hows Deathly Hallows? I still refuse to read any more Harry Potter books (I stopped at Order of the Pheonix) after finding out Ginny and Harry get together..blegh.
Enjoy your holidays!~rajita
Thanks! Well usually I make them then give them away as gifts… I do have a problem if enjoying making the crochet stuff then not knowing what to do with them. But Mox is staying and probably going to stand on my desk in the corner. If I make and keep any more, they’ll probably get the same treatment.
I do have a camera, its called a Sony Cybershot which I think my parents bought for like $50 in K-mart (sale!) or some such. The photos turn out either blurry (my fault) or focused but really grainy. :(
Deathly Hallows is alright, though it feels a little… choppy? Still only halfway through, but I can’t say I’m amazed or anything.
Happy holidays to you too. :)
Hey, my mom has a Sony Cybershot. I haven’t noticed graininess, but then again I haven’t used it for craft pictures. She uses it for pictures of people and stuff… and well, she took some nice pictures of our Europe trip. Very strange.
See that’s the thing! Shots of people and places turn out okay. But close-ups of crafty stuff always turns out kinda grainy and stuff. No idea why. Maybe it doesn’t do so hot with close focus? I don’t know. o_o
Awww, Belinda, he’s so cute! I could squash him with a hug, he’s that cute. Now you’ve got me n’awwing - I’ll be going all day at this rate.
Well done on finishing him! Not sure if I’d have that much patience long-term, myself.
Aww, Mox the Robot is so adorable! I would never have the patience to sit down for 12 hours and make something. Well done!
I’ve come to echo everyone else. Mox is so cute! I love the little heart detail, and the colors. But 12 hours? I admire your dedication.
I love it! Now I feel that I need to make one myself ;) Thanks for inspiration :D
