Life, Rants November 30th, 2007Why would a pub, with no dance floor, serving the usual beers and cocktails, with lots of seating and tables designed for friends/acquaintances to get together and chat while drinking, BLAST TECHNO MUSIC THAT IS SO LOUD THAT IT MAKES THE TABLES LITERALLY VIBRATE?

When I’m sitting in one of my auntie and uncles Christmas parties — he has a middle-aged band who blare their music out into a small room — I often do wonder the same thing. You can’t appreciate the music once it gets too loud. There’s also something to be said for loving and appreciating your ear drums. So they’re still functioning when you reach the ripe old age of 83. :P

I wish there were techno pubs around here, but I hate loud music, too. *sigh* I think people just don’t respect their ear drums. I heard from somewhere that iPods with loud music will kill your ears in something like just a few hours. I don’t know how true that is, though.

The scene you described sounds nice and I would actually call it a piano bar maybe. Apart from the loud music. Heck but why would people play music on earphones so loud that people at the other end of the bus can hear clearly?
