Oh Hair
Anime/Comics, Life October 6th, 2007
Ack sorry for the lack of blogging, but recently my life has revolved around:
- Doing assignments
- Worrying about assignments
- Anime (more below)
- Procrastinating from assignments
Not exactly something that’s worth recounting in detail, never mind having to read it.
I have a question, what can one do about coarse hair tips? My hair is getting relatively longish; and about the bottom inch of it feels very rough. I don’t get tangles and I don’t use conditioner (that stuff is expensive!). Most of my hair feels okay, but for some reason the tips feel all bristly. Is it the lack of conditioning? Stress? Diet? Gah I should just cut it all off. Just in time for summer too, perhaps.
As for anime, I’ve been watching Blood+ (I have all of it now, yay!) and xxxHOLiC. I’ve been struggling to retain interest in the former, I think more drawn-out, serious/political/army-related anime isn’t quite to my taste. Maybe it’ll get better. The latter, however, I’ve enjoyed quite a bit. I shall put up a review of it after I’m done, I’m about 16 episodes into this 24 episode anime.
Currently visiting: A Feminist Critique of Animation - Yay two interesting topics in crossed together: animation and feminism. I just started reading some of the articles (I wish they wouldn’t go in pop ups though). There goes the next hour, most likely.
P.S. Who remembers layouts/sites with the section called “omake” being the miscellaneous section? That used to be huge a few years ago, but I just noticed that it’s just about all been phased out.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Sounds like you have split ends. The only way to fix that is to trim the ends of your hair, and then brush gently to prevent more split ends.
Ooh, I remember those “omake” sections! I miss that, but these days I think only a few will know what that is.
Hmmm gentle brushing… got it! I usually just rake my comb through my hair as fast as I can, just to make sure the tangles are gone. ^^;
You might need a trim? It sounds like that anyway. I know when my hair grows to a certain length the ends feel a lot more dead. :P
I’ve never been an animé fan.
Mm I probably do need a trim, I rarely let my hair grow very long anyway. It’s this long out of my sheer laziness from going to hairdressers. :P
If it’s just a plain trim, you can always trim it yourself. :) Wet your hair (to make sure that it’s even), and then just get a small pair of nail scissors and get rid of the split ends. You’d be taking a maximum of two cms off the ends, so it’s really not big enough a job for the hairdressers.
A lack of conditioning will make split ends appear faster than they would if you used it, but a trim cures that nicely. And don’t brush your hair when it’s wet, it damages the cuticle!
I barely remember sites with the “omake” — I was never in that circle per se, but I knew people in it.
:O Wow! I never knew that brushing wet hair damages it! I always do that!
Isn’t it weird to be stepping out of the shower with messy wet hair (that gets messier in the towel-drying process) and not brush it straight? What do you do with it? o_o
I totally remember omake. I remember being completely baffled as to what it even was back then. I still am not sure I understand. O_o
I wish I could watch anime. I just don’t have the patience or drive to watch most TV shows, or maybe anime just isn’t my taste. :(
Lol at that “Anime” stuck in the list of assignment stuff.
I don’t use conditioner either. I just go to the hairdressers and tell them to trim my hair. It kills the coarse tips–however temporarily. My friend suggested this serum thing you could get from supermarkets that makes your hair really smooth but I’m not too sure about improving those tips.
I didn’t know what omake meant. Never did it. Did you? :P
My life is revolving on pretty much the same things as you, except for anime hehe. Assignments are such a drag, what more procrastinating on them. Eeek.
My hair gets like that too, if I don’t use a conditioner. Really it’s expensive? It costs pretty much the same like shampoos over here, if not, then a little bit cheaper at least. Try getting a conditioner, but don’t use it all over your hair, just the end so it doesn’t finish fast ;)
It’s so much easier to procrastinate on assignments than actually do them ;)
I’ve rarely seen an omake section back in the day…
I usually get a trim when my ends start becoming dryer, lighter, frizzier, etc. Not doing so eventually gets me split ends and then it seems to get all over my head, so I just trim on time XD
My ex-bf used used to mention Blood+ all the time, reading it in your blog gave a little flashback , heh. I don’t watch it, though.
And lastly, I do remember sites with “omake” sections! I think one my old sailor moon fan site had a section called like that for some time, but I phased it out quickly. That also reminds me of clique rules “no hentai” XD
I love how your list of to-dos is just what I do every day now too. As for your hair, I’ve noticed from the beginning of this school year that conditioner really does make a hell of a difference when it comes to rough or dried out hair, at least for me. I stopped using conditioner near the beginning because I was too lazy to spend the time to let it sit in my hair as I showered, and my hair progressively became rougher. Conditioner isn’t that expensive, like someone said before, just apply it near the bottom of your hair so as to not use it all up right away. It helps tremendously if you get a good but cheap brand. I use tresemme, but that’s because my brothers both had left-over bottles and they don’t have hair anymore to use the shampoo/conditioner on. :P
