New Theme! I Didn’t Make It!
Life, Online September 9th, 2007I got sick of the complexity of the last theme. This one is a lot more simple than the last, though it does look a bit too web 2.0. Reminds me of my LJ layout. Oh well, it’s only temporary. I needed a layout that’s simple enough that I can fiddle around with the navigation and adding/editing of content without confusing the hell out of my no-longer-familiar-with-CSS brain. I’m planning to add more content (more “about me” and also an articles/review section, mainly importing articles I wrote from my now-closed writing site) to grow the site before moving the whole blog to its new shiny domain and hopefully, a decent, original layout. Dunno when that’s going to happen though!
Looks like the sidebar links are way too large in IE. Ah stupid browser.
In other news, I’m sick. You know that feeling you get in your lungs when you’ve run heaps and it feels like your lung is burning, but not in a heated way (just really dry and almost cold-like)? Yeah, well that’s what my lungs feel like, plus a good amount of phlegm. Blargh. My voice is totally gone.
One bright note of the day though, my brother’s making me dinner. I was quite touched when he offered (my mum’s too busy tonight), even though it’s just instant noodles and eggs. I don’t think he’s ever made anything for me.
Edit: Random plug to Dee for being a very helpful host! I had bad wordpress loading issues whenever I tried to edit anything. Even though the solution turns out to be just upgrading from 2.2.1 to 2.2.3, Dee nonetheless help me eliminate other possible avenues fixing the problem that I wouldn’t have thought of myself.
Edit #2: I’m in the process of finally transferring all the really old greymatter pages in the archives to properly, backdated entries. I really hope that it doesn’t clog up people’s RSS feeds, and if it does I’m really sorry!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I hope that you feel better soon. I just got over a nasty nasty cold. They’re such terrible things. :( Your brother’s sweet. I like the new theme and the neon green link colors (I love green!).
Must be the changing weather. My mum’s sick and now I feel a bit sniffly myself as well. *sneezes* Hope you feel better! And the new theme is nice. :3 Simple and functional.
It’s a nice theme, why only temporary though? I find the sidebar a little big to my liking but it’s probably just on this page because there’s not a lot of comments so far. :P
I don’t have a brother. Dad cooks sometimes, but I’d like to try out meals from some of my guy friends. I can’t imagine what they’d taste like.
Your lungs sound bad. Rest more and hope you get well soon!
I hope you get well soon! I wish my brother would make dinner for me…
I can’t wait to see the new content!
You have written URL twice (in the comment form).
I like the theme a lot and I don’t mind if it’s “too web 2.0″. It’s different enough from the usual light blue, pink and star badge one so I’m fine with it. Good luck with the revamping, I’ve been trying to convince myself to do one forever… up until now though: nothing.
This theme does not feel like you. Not that I’d venture so far as to say that I know what you feel like :-P But it says to me… “I’m an 18 year old who just got out of using iframes and tables, discovered CSS and what constitutes a cool design since 2006 and this is my awesome theme.” lol!
Hope you get better soon and how sweet of your brother to do that! The sweetest thing my brother’s ever done for me is get a bottle of Yakult out of the fridge while he was getting his without me having to ask.
To Rilla: Temporary because I just wanted an easy theme to manipulate while I get my content sorted. Then I can make a brand-spanking new layout and move everything over to a new domain! Changes! :o
To Vera: Ooh oops, thanks for pointing out the mistakes! I’ll get it fixed now. Aww I totally understand the feeling of procrastination!
To Kat: Valid point! I don’t think this is very “me” either, though I did just find it pleasing to the eye. I don’t think I can stand this rather standard make-up soon enough; I hope to make an original layout after I get my content sorted. Although it *is* a bit like I just (re)discovered CSS, given that I haven’t tinkered with site-making for a while!
I love simple themes. My brain cannot process more than one sidebar or navigational strip.
