Spatchy the Dragosaur
Craft, Photos April 10th, 2007

Beware! It’s a Dragosaur, a half-dragon, half-dinosaur, a creature so frightening it would surely haunt your dreams! Luckily, the rare footage shown here is of an unfortunate, deformed baby dragosaur, most probably abandoned by its fearsome parents. Scientists who stumbled across this pitiful creature decided to name it “Spatchy”; a compromise between the names “Spot” and “Patchy”.
(Actually if you look closely, it’s not actually a real creature at all, but another unfinished crochet creation. Undoubtedly I must have had you fooled! Right, guys? :P)
*Cough* But yes, Spatchy has been sitting unfinished on my desk for a good month now. I haven’t had the opportunity to buy eyes for it yet. Might give it a bit of a mouth too, spines on it’s back and possibly ears. I haven’t decided whether it’s a dragon or a dinosaur. I’m pretty sure neither one has visible ears. And yes, I got it from a free pattern, I’ll dig it up later.
Soooo tired now from writing a torturous essay, gonna go to bed now.

You know, your crochet seems to be getting better all the time. I really like the colours that you use though. My colour schemes are from colourlovers.com and I doubt I’d be able to use them in something other than CSS! In fact, my only attempts at knitting have gone completely disastrously.
I love this. I really want one (or at least, I want to know how to MAKE one, and then I want the time and skills TO make one).
I think he needs eyes, spines, and horns, but no mouth and no ears. Or ears and no horns. I just think his head would look weird if he didn’t have SOMETHING up there, though.
I think he also needs some felt wings.
Well, now that I think about it, maybe he doesn’t need horns or ears. But definitely spines, then.
Gah, very cute!
I’d just like to say that that is, without a doubt, the coolest thing in the universe bar none.
Most adorable thing ever. Reminds me of beanie babies back in the day, but so much cooler because it’s wool. And I agree with Amber that your work becomes increasing impressive.
He is so cute! I want a dragosaur :(
Adorable! I think spines would look really cute on it, and maybe instead of a mouth you could do nostrils?
Thanks guys! :3 I can’t wait till I get back to crafting things when I get more time.
To Kudarania: Tick for spines and eyes. Hmmm ears might make it look kinda dopey, so I’m still not sure. Maybe horns… rhino ones?
To Emily: Oooh I haven’t even thought about nostrils. Maybe I can get a bit of acrylic paint to give him nostrils or just put a few stitches of black yarn to where his nose should be.
This is Whistle from Snark. :) That is absolutely cute! I’m very impressed. I honestly can’t crochet to save my life. We were taught crochet in Home E.C. and I remember crying about it to the teacher because I was so frustrated with the whole concept.
3 words: so very cute.
I want one of those. Did you make it?
Oh he’s so cute! At first I thought it was a multi-coloured sperm with appendages, lol!
That’s just too adorable! :D I love the use of colors.
I like it! It’s so cute! Ooh :D
To Laura: Crochet is really not that difficult if you have the luxury of someone showing you how to do it… it’s just really important to take stitches one at a time and to get used to them.
To Vera: Yes I did. :P
To Kat: xD The tail does look a little spermy. :P
That is IMPRESSIVE! It looks like an actual dinosaur! Never mind the fact that I am terrified of dinosaurs!
omgz!
cutest thing ever! damn, wish I knew how to crochet!
btw, will probably be around for 2 weeks! =D So we definitely need to meet up!
