Puppy love?
Life, Uni, Watched, World April 7th, 2007I found my 13 year old brother’s bebo page (it seems to be a social networking site similar to myspace) and I discovered that he’s “in love” with a girl named Jessica (presumably his age). Ha, I can’t wait till I confront him about it tomorrow. Not out of disapproval or anything (though I am a bit concerned… I wasn’t dating when *I* was 13!) but just amusement. I think she’s his first girlfriend. I wonder how long it’ll last. :P
I watched 300 the other day, what a fun movie! These two reviews summed it up the best.
Two weeks holiday, yay! But three essays to write as one is due in the holidays (next Tuesday in fact) and two right after it. Booo… It’s pretty cruel to have assignments due DURING holidays. That’s very nice of you, law department.
Did you know some people define racism as only to mean white people being racist to everyone else? E.g. Because I’m Chinese, even if I make an incredibly defamatory remark about someone’s race, that’s not me being racist (because I’m not white) but that’s me being prejudice. Based on colour. This goes for sexism too (i.e. only white men can be sexist, women can’t be sexist to each other or to men, that’s just prejudice… based on sex -_-). Thanks for ruining two perfectly descriptive terms, people! Tim summed it up best in his posts referring to these weird definitions of sexism and racism. Warning: long posts. :P
Thanks to the incredibly helpful comments to my post below, my next step is to simply save money. Then it would be off to the shops so I can start investing in some decent clothing!

Ha, your brother’s a late developer! My brother’s only ten and he has three girlfriends on the string.
Ahahaha… XD Young love… How sweet.
And in regards to your afashionable entry…
I think that I’m “afashionable” too. It’s because I have no INTEREST in wearing clothes that aren’t baggy jeans, baggy-teeshirts, with a hoodie or a plaid kind of shirt over me. I overdress like that because I feel… naked even with just a tee-shirt on! I only feel comfortable with at least two shirts when I’m outside. Yes, I be weird…
Oh please… my youngest cousin had a girl friend when he was 10… and he kept asking me why I didn’t have one (a boyfriend I mean). He was genuinely bewildered. I was 17 at the time… *rolls eyes*
Still, that must be so cute.. from your point of view ;)
Racism, I don’t can be limited to white people (or gender). I know of a lot African Americans who are much more radical in their dislike of white people, than many white people are in regards to them.
I found out that my 11-year-old cousin (who is like my little sister) had a big crush on her classmate. I, er, accidentally read her little entry on him. It was so cute. :P But I can’t imagine her having a boyfriend. To me, she’s still a baby!
The name didn’t cost me 121$. xD It was the name AND the site.
But, being prejudice is the same as being racist, why people simply ignore the fact that other races can be racist is beyond me. Oh well, it gives me an excuse to call white people crackers, black people niggers, and so on and so forth until I piss someone off and get shot for it. xP I’m not prejudice, honestly, I’m mean to every one. I mean, unless like …I like them as friends/potential lovers.
Among racially-sensitive/apologetic whites, there exists a common belief that black people CANNOT be racist. I went to a high school that was overwhelmingly immigrant, and most of my classmates harbored vocal animosity toward whites. It was awfully disconcerting. If I am a racist (”prejudiced person”) today, it is through osmosis.
Anyway, a prominent example in the media of a black racist is OPRAH. During an event honoring black female achievement, she pretty much denigrated white women. It was disgusting to watch, so I shut off the TV.
To Sabrina: Meh, I never liked Oprah, the things she says are so ordinary and some of her segments are so egotistical. I still don’t know who’s worse, her or Dr. Phil.
My little sister is seven and she had three boyfriends on the go at one point. Then she battered her long eye lashes at me and asked, “Amber, so why don’t you have a boyfriend?”
My sister has more popularity at her school than I’ve had in almost all my life.
To all those with siblings/cousins who started “dating” early: Ha, what’s up with that? :P I didn’t start dating till I was 18 and that’s not even the norm in my group (the majority haven’t started dating yet). Tsk, kids these days. :P
