Pre-Uni
Blogathon '07, Uni February 26th, 2007Damn you server-downtime!! I came home quite late and there were only 1/2h until yesterday was over but I wasn’t able to access my blog. Bah. Two posts for today then! So yes, later today I’ll be attending my first Uni lecture and tutorial for this year. Oh joy. -_- I can’t believe I’m in 4th year already!
Must buy Uni textbooks ASAP (readings will undoubtedly be issued in the first classes). The queues would be atrocious and worse of all… SO EXPENSIVE!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
For the year? Your years begin and finish at odd times then, I think. At least - they’re different from mine. Good luck with your first lecture. Try not to fall asleep (I’ve nearly done that once, and it doesn’t reflect well upon you).
And I know that the books are expensive. I mean… It’s just a BOOK. Paper! How can it be so expensive?!
start of the years at school are such a pain. Line-ups just seem to poke out of every door, and the bookstore lineup is even worse. I usually wait a few weeks before I buy my stuff, because I try and get old textbooks off people. It’s so much cheaper, but it’s more of a hassle than braving the bookstore.
Although, it is a bit embarrassing to walk into tutorials without having read the materials. heh. Hope your lectures and tutorials go well.
I hope you don’t mind me asking. When does a schoolyear start and end in Australia? I’m just curious.
Hope everything goes well today! :D
For primary and high school, the school year starts sometime late January and finishes late December (just before Christmas). For Universities, we get more breaks, so we usually start late February and end late November. There are a few two week breaks throughout the year for everyone.
Fourth year? That’s the last year right? And yeah, I agree that server downtime sucks, but it had to be done XD XD I still wub Dreamhost. I’ve been with them for six years now, and I can’t believe other people (not you) are SO HIFFY about downtimes. I mean…no host is perfect…so they can’t expect 100% uptime, eh? I’d rather much be angry at the textbook industry for making prices being a whopper!
Mmm I didn’t mind the downtime too much either especially since it was announced and planned. The uptime has been very good anyway. Still, downtimes are sucky unto themselves. :P
And nope, not last year, next year is my last year. Eep.
